Ego is a Melbourne-based digital artist working across video and projection, augmented reality, print, and audio-visual performance.

Best known for his vibrant, cut and paste, multi-media collages, Ego’s work explores themes of escapism and earthly wonders and the crossovers between what we see and what we dream. He is forever on the leading edge of his craft, blending and forging techniques to create unique results and push audiences into new worlds.

He’s produced large architectural mapped projections at Sydney’s Vivid Festival, exhibited work at Hobart’s MONA FOMA, built trampoline-powered flight simulators for students, and augmented reality paste-ups for nightclubs. He created a live painted x projection mapped stage show with Tkay Maidza and mural artist Claire Foxton. Teaming with music producer Touch Sensitive the pair made a world-first, instagram-sourced song and music video.

His animation skills keep him in high demand as a visual designer for a large swathe of Australia’s musicians including Matt Corby, Thundamentals and Nina Las Vegas. He’s worked on countless music videos for artists such as LDRU, KLP, Kota Banks, Paces and Sachi. As well as commissions for Slurpee, Red Bull, Sneaker Freaker, Nissan, and Lion Nathan.

He’s toured internationally as an audio-visual DJ, from festivals in South Africa to art galleries in Colombia, as well as main stages at Falls Festival, Splendour in the Grass and Field Day. His innovative use of visuals within his sets saw global DJ brand Serato make him an ambassador for their product. Ego was also an Australian finalist in the 2016 Redbull Thre3Style DJ competition.

Ego works with youth arts organisations Heaps Decent and Arena Theatre Company.
